Ayurvedic Beauty Series: Pitta

'Pitta' refers to the digestive fire in the body. 'Bile' is the primary component of this dosha of Ayurveda. An increase in bile creates too much body heat and an aggressive temperament. People who are genetically inclined towards more pitta or element have a strong and domineering attitude in life. They are perfectionists and very meticulous.



In order to identify whether you are a pitta type personality, here are some physical traits to refer to:

  • They have a heart-shaped or triangle-shaped face with small and sharp features.
  • Radiant and clear eyes with luster and brightness.
  • Rosy or ruddy complexion due to internal body heat.
  • They are mesomorphs with naturally lean and athletic body types.
  • Prone to having acidity or digestive disorders.
  • Heat rashes, dry, sensitive skin, and rosacea are also common complaints found among the pitta types.
  • Difficulty in falling asleep and premature grey hairs.
In terms of fashion, they like dramatic and head-turning ensembles. They incline towards colors like red, pink, and pastels. Their tastes in jewerly are somewhat loud and flashy. They ain't afraid to hide their fierceness and love to steal the spotlight.

Their natural fiery temperament and hot-headed nature can benefit from having some balancing elements in skincare and diet.
Rosewater is a great benefit to them as it helps reduce the redness and soothe the agitated skin.
Including some 'cooling' and sweet fruits will soothe their sensitive digestive system.
