Ayurvedic Beauty Series:Vata

'Vata' is one of the three doshas of Ayurveda which focussed on the air element. People with this body type are windy, delicate constitution, and of nervous temperament. They have weak immunity and are prone to mental disorders due to overthinking nature.

In order to identify whether you are a Vata type personality, here are some physical traits to refer to:
  • They have long, slender and ectomorphic body like most models on the runway.
  • Sunken cheeks, wide-set eyes, and bony structure.
  • Vata types suffer from premature wrinkles, thin skin, dark circles, and dryness.
  • They are mesomorphs with naturally lean and athletic body types.
  • Overthinking, anxiety, nervous breakdown, and changing sleep patterns are also common.
  • They tend to age faster among all the dosha types.
  • Problems in putting on weight and lack of flesh in the body.
Fashion favors and loves people with this dosha type. Vata people are naturally inclined towards art and expressions. Their nervous and overthinking temperament makes them meticulous and attentive to details. Their tall and lean frame grabs them a lot of attention as models.

They prefer soft pastels and neutral colours for their personal wardrobe. Their style can be described as avant-garde and off-beat.
Their nervous temperament and anxious nature can benefit from having some balancing elements in skincare and diet.

Cream-based moisturizers are important to protect their skin from drying up and premature aging. They require extensive beauty practises like the ten-step  Korean beauty routine.

Having dense food like nuts and soy milk can help them to put on some weight and bring down their anxiety levels. Warm foods like soup and broths will help them relax and hydrate from within.
