Sun being the brightest star or luminary in the sky is associated with awareness. Light takes away the delusions and brings the reality to forefront. Therefore where Sun is placed in your chart, it will bring more focus, and clarity in that area.

The Sun is in the first house when it rises in the morning. It gets exalted in the sign of Aries or the first house. Here it brings awareness to self. The focus being on understanding oneself. Knowing oneself is the greatest wisdom as one becomes more secure from within.

Superiority or inferiority complex, overestimating or underestimating oneself are all signs of unbalanced ego and weak Sun. If one is aware of one's real weakness and strength, then their  confidence is going to be rock solid. They will not seek external validation.

The Sun is in the seventh house during the evening when it sets. Setting sun is symbolic of the darkness that is yet to come. When the Sun is in Libra or the 7th house. Here, the focus shifts to other people or spouse. One seeks self awareness through others opinion or  approval.

It is a challenge for people with 7th house Sun or Libra Sun to not care about others. It can be a very karmic placement where one has to focus on others and consciously give up on one's opinions. It is a good placement for being well liked but the suffering is on internal level.
